This was actually one of my best review experiences so far. Both reviewers were positive about the paper, and the editor therefore followed their suggestion and outright accepted the paper. Reviewer #1 did not make any new suggestions. However, we applaud his/her scientifc integrity, as R1's opinion on the matter discussed was explicitly from ours. However, he/she felt that we brought up some good points that could spark an interesting debate, and therefore recommended publication anyway. R2 made some good suggestions that improved the final version of the manuscript we submitted to the editorial office.
